The Village: Great British Summer

The Girls’ Trip. It’s happening. The plans have made it out of the group chat, and our trio treats every outing like a fashion show. At the beach, they’re getting glam with their favourite MAC beauty products, they’re taking photos, and they’re dressing for any spontaneity coming their way this summer. They manifested good vibes – and they intend to make their flow state last all season.

When Grandma and Grandpa offered Mum a break from the kids this summer, they might have underestimated the idea ever so slightly. Chaos sweeps in with the summer breeze – sandy footprints pepper their seaside home, the little ones can’t sit still long enough to apply their sun cream – but it’s worth it to see a smile on their face. You can’t predict the weather. But you can predict consoling the grandkids after they drop their ice cream for the 12th time in two hours.

A summer romance – but not as you know it. This one’s built to last, and the seaside is the perfect backdrop. Escaping the mundane, Charlie & Charlotte chase all the thrills the British funfair has to offer. Not even the seagulls can spoil their fish and chip supper on the pier – but trust us, they tried. And yes, Charlie will be carrying the giant plush toy he won for Charlotte around the entire funfair.

At the heart of every Great British Summer, there’s the ice cream vendor delivering sweet moments to every passer-by. Quietly observing, they can predict an order based on the customer’s personality, and they’re just as disappointed with the ‘99er inflation as you are. Don’t mind the dry one-liners and occasional raised eyebrow – they’ve seen every stereotype on the beach in years gone by, and besides, it brings them joy to be the constant in all the chaos.
